Laryngeal tumors
Vocal cord nodules ("polyps”) aka singers nodes
Laryngeal papilloma or squamous papilloma
recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) in infants and toddlers
Carcinoma of the Larynx:
nearly all cases occur in smokers: persistent
hoarseness in a chronic smoker is CaLx until proven otherwise
95% are typical squamous cell lesions
glottic tumors in 60% to 75%: good prognosis as
Pt presents early due to hoarseness
No lymphatics in the area
adjacent mucosa may demonstrate squamous cell hyperplasia with foci of dysplasia, or even carcinoma in situ.
